Spalted Maple Coffee Table

This beautiful piece comes to us from a local craftsman in Ellijay, GA. He hand selected each piece of wood, aiming for individuality and striking characteristics that the wood naturally features.

This piece is spalted maple. Spalting occurs from fungi inside the grain of the tree. The chatoyancy of the maple next to the highlighting of the grain due to the spalting create a stunning piece. He then encapsulated and finished the piece with an extraordinarily perfect epoxy pour, going so far as to create the image of nimbus clouds throughout the otherwise clear epoxy. Truly breathtaking!
