Barite

Barite is a form of barium sulfate. It occurs in hydrothermal ore veins (particularly those containing lead and silver), in sedimentary rocks, and in clay deposits formed by the weathering of limestone, in marine deposits, and in cavities in. It comes in a variety of formations, the one pictured is called crested barite. It is used in multiple applications across the industrial world. Examples of this include its use as white pigment in some paints, a preparation tool for the drilling of oil and gas wells, and even as a filler in paper.
